EduBuntu offers effective, comprehensive study note packs for Maths, English HL Literature, Afrikaans FAL, Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences. Each pack contains a multitude of helpful techniques and information compiled by students, for students.
OUR STORY
A simple idea can change our country.
Since its founding, the EduBuntu Project has been recognised as the winner of the 2018 EOH Socio-Novus Innovation Challenge, and has helped many students all over South Africa.
Education is a boarding pass to growth on all levels of society. However, the larger part of South Africa’s education system is fundamentally flawed. Between under-qualified educators, lack of resources, and limited structures for academic support, our Matric failure rate exceeds that of most other nations. These circumstances demand change.
The NSC should equip its holders with wide understanding. However, in many cases, students are taught this syllabus incompletely and unsystematically. Students who do not receive a significant pass endure the devastating socio-economic consequences of poor education, and will continue to do so unless an accessible solution is urgently implemented.
Following my Matric exams, I spent well over 90 hours compiling my study notes into systematic and comprehensive online study note packs. Having received 9 distinctions from their use, I knew I wanted to make them accessible to as many students as possible. However, what began as a mere note-compilation project became much bigger. The final packs ended up not only containing a blend of handwritten and typed notes, but amazing summaries, lists of the best resources, my past assignments as guidelines, study tips and much more, all set out in a highly accessible and methodical manner. They have the potential to reach and support thousands of Matric students in the country.

Ultimately, we hope to make the notes, which are currently partly handwritten, completely typed, and update them as the syllabus changes. To achieve this, we would need to hire a team to retype the notes, which we would reimburse at around R15 a page (an outlay of approximately R4200). In addition, we would expand the content to include worked examples, past papers and multiple translations of the format and material.
Translation services at R40 a page for 434 pages would require R17360 per language.
The ultimate vision would be to use all profits to create a South Africa- centred online study hub specifically aimed at learners of the NSC syllabus. It would offer forums for discussion, access to free resources (including these note packs), tutor links, and academic support for learners who would not normally receive these benefits within their school community.

This initiative will enable the education system to receive a huge amount of support, will facilitate the empowerment of our desperate youth, and will create immensely positive change in our country.
